David Attenborough's Wonderful World

A gorgeous trailer paying homage to David Attenborough’s final episode of Frozen Planet on the BBC. So. Great.

I really can’t express how much I’ve loved every second of Sir David’s BBC documentaries I’ve hoarded and been watching over the past few months. I’ve been watching them as I can get them and for sheer profound beauty, inspiration and sense of wonder I cannot think of anything that has affected me more on television. This is what TV was invented for.

If you haven’t seen “the Planets” (and you really want to see them all, I assure you), you owe it to yourself, your future generations and the planet to grab them on HD, get a freaking big screen, turn the lights out, turn the sound up and watch helplessly in jaw dropped amazement as what this man and his teams have done washes over you. It’s astounding. The man has managed to capture some of the most amazing and stunning natural and wildlife photography in existence with these docos.

Attenborough has also probably provided more grist to the travel mill of my dromomania than any other human being on the planet. He’s managed to force me to chalk up a few more epic birthday destination plans as well and generally just given me really, really itchy feet every episode. If you wonder what I’m doing when I’m not doing all that other stuff I do, it’s generally being inspired by this guy. Well played, sir. Well played.
