This clip is just amazing. I have to admit swimming with wild dolphins at Kaikoura was perhaps one of the most amazingly enjoyable things I have ever done, but I would have lost it seeing this video footage.
Even more amazingly, the whole thing was captured with a simple GoPro camera (a Hero2 with the dive casing and a home-built “torpedo”, apparently.). In any case, just watching this puts you in a better mood. Dolphin amazingness starts just after 1m30.
Kinda loving this excellent campaigning video from the Taronga Zoo . Love the wet ink animation style and just the general tone. Great execution (and the zoo is an awesome cause btw. They do fantastic work.).
Only problem is no solid Call to Action on the end.

I really can’t express how much I’ve loved every second of Sir David’s BBC documentaries I’ve hoarded and been watching over the past few months. I’ve been watching them as I can get them and for sheer profound beauty, inspiration and sense of wonder I cannot think of anything that has affected me more on television. This is what TV was invented for.

And a fantastic point about the phenomenon of “shifting environment baselines”. Find it’s probably as true of the sea as land based issues like climate and air quality.
I think the only way Australia could be more fun for me is if it actually did still contain 7 foot tall kangaroos and giant wombats (and there’d be something able to take down the roving giant spiders).

Have to admit, really impressed with this ad from the WWF. Sadly, I might have ignored it if it was a less compelling visual animation. Think they should extend the style to a bunch of their other ads actually. Works well.
