The Known Universe from the AMNH

This is unfathomably amazing. A digital map of our known universe by the American Museum of Natural History going all the way from the Himalayas to the edge of our senses and the afterglow of the Big Bang. Humbling hugeness.

If you’ve got a really big screen I recommend going to the AMNH YouTube site and watching this in hidef. It’s incredible on my cinema display.

Every star, planet, and quasar seen in the film is possible because of the world’s most complete four-dimensional map of the universe, the Digital Universe Atlas that is maintained and updated by astrophysicists at the American Museum of Natural History."

For more info visit the AMNH website . Apparently, it’s part of an exhibit at the Rubin Museum in Manhattan. I’d definitely be scheduling that one in.
